I keep getting queries on how and what to use on our skin at night. Yes, there MUST be a proper night routine in place for every single person be it a man or a woman! Your skin heals at night hence it’s very important to put on the best products and let it work , while you sleep 🙂
While, there are multiple skin types, I will be basic here and divide it into most common type i.e Oily, Combination and Dry. You can always add some treatment products based on your individual skin issues and preferences.
Night Routine for Every Skin Type:
Night routine for Oily Skin:
Many skin types are turning oily due to increasing humidity, however PLEASE do not think that you don’t need any moisturizer, EVERYONE needs a moisturizer! Anyway, here’s a routine that you guys can follow 🙂
Face Wash: Gran flour + Fullers earth. Mix in water, form a thick paste and massage for 2-3 minutes and wash it off.
Toner: 2 parts apple cider with 6 parts of rose water. Use this as a toner and let it dry 🙂
Moisturizer: If you hate moisturizers, just use Aloevera Gel and sleep. If you don’t mind a little moisturizer on your skin, Mix Aloevera gel with few drops of grape seed oil and massage. It will be a perfect moisturizer.
Simple ha? 🙂 On special days or if you are not lazy then thrice a week, use multani mitti (fullers earth) mixed with little bentonite clay and apply as a mask for 20 minutes. When you do this, skip washing your face and jump straight to the toner part.
Night Routine for Dry Skin:
It can really tricky to tackle dry skin sometimes. Especially if you are prone to breakouts. Dry skin people need to be careful about moisturizer since their skin is prone to wrinkles early. However, I have a perfect routine for you guys 🙂
Face Wash: Oats powder + Honey. Massage it on your skin well and wash it off with cold water.
Toner: Aloevera water
Moisturizer: Since your skin is dry, it is better if you use 2 things. First layer your face with Hyalugel (It is like water, seriously!) and then apply a mix of grape seed and rose hip oil. Both the oil’s are great for anti-aging and imparting moisture to your dry skin.
As a stress buster, apply oats powder mixed with little multani mitti (may be 1/2 a tea spoon), mix it with curd and apply.
Night Routine for Combination Skin:
Honestly, I feel this is the most trickiest type of skin. People usually assume its great to have combination skin, but it really is tricky to deal with this one.
Face Wash: Oats Powder + Multani Mitti is the best cleanser for you guys.
Toner: Aloevera water + Rose water (Equal proportion)
Moisturizer: You can actually keep it simple and use only grape seed oil. If you feel that is too less (it is not!) then you may add Jojoba oil a little and create your own fancy face serum 😉
On treatment days, you may want to use bentonite clay once a week. Additionally, A combination of organic honey, oats powder and ashwagandha powder is great for your skin type 🙂
I have not mentioned any under eye cream, because it is difficult to give you a separate cream for each skin type. You can use whatever suits you. Also, the oils kind of work great for under eye area as well.
