Most important things to consider when buying Argan Oil
Hello Lovelies, Hope you all are doing great π Just about recently I decided to buy lot of oils from a local seller; I was surprised to see him selling Argan Oil. I immediately inquired about the extraction process and was convinced to place an order. One thing that bothered me was the price I paid for it (It was too less for an oil coming from Argan seeds) nevertheless I went ahead with my order and after receiving it, I realized it was a synthetic version of the much raved about Argan Oil ! πΏ That got me researching deep into Argan Oils and the most important things to look out for when buying a bottle of it. So lets dig deep into the Miracle product Argan oil π
What is Argan Oil and where does it come from?
Argan oil is an oil that comes from kernels of Argan seeds that are grown in Morocco. Local Berber women work in fair-trade cooperatives where they hand-crack the argan nuts in between two stones, a technique they have used for centuries. Instead of being put through a machine, the raw argan kernels are hand-extracted from the hard shell, hand-ground in a stone grinder, hand-kneaded for hours and first cold-pressed into the oil. It takes one woman three days to make just one liter of oil. Now you see why is it so valuable! It is termed as ‘liquid goldβ in beauty industry because of the infinite benefits that it imparts on our body, hair and skin.
Here are some of the benefits of Argan oil:
- Extremely good in essential fatty acids which helps in rejuvenating our skin
- Makes hair super soft and tames frizzes
- A great anti-ageing product
- Does not cause acne as it absorbs easily into our skin
- Tones and helps even tone skin
- A great body, face and hair moisturizer
Ya I know its so tempting to try this all natural ‘liquid goldβ but because of the rave in the beauty industry many companies sadly have come up with either synthetic argan oils or products containing merely some percentage of argan oil. So hereβs my list of:
7 most important things to consider when buying this liquid gold-argan oil:
1. Packaging: There are producers that sell argan oil either in clear or plastic bottles. Beware here! both the kind of packaging can deteriorate the oil; pure argan oil is always sold in dark/amber colored glass bottles this helps restore the qualities of liquid gold. Light breaks down the properties of oil hence dark colored bottles or even aluminium bottled are fine.
2. Price: I have already explained the tedious manual process followed by Berber woman to extract the oil, how on the earth would you get it cheap? Pure organic argan oil would be expensive but definitely worth it!
3. Ingredients: Pure argan oil will have one and only one ingredient - 100% argan oil. Any other added ingredients means the oil is mixed.
4. Smell: Pure argan oil will have a nutty aroma or something new and raw to your nose. Odorless, scented aromas in argan oil is a sign to be cautious!
5. Texture: Argan oil has a very silky slippery texture that absorbs quickly into your skin leaving it soft and moisturized.
6. Color: The color of argan oil should golden-yellow in color if the color is light it is most likely mixed with other oils
7. Sellers: Always buy argan oil from certifies buyers only, do not get it from your local sellers or exporters. So these were the 7 most important things you should consider when purchasing your bottle of liquid gold aka argan oil. Hope you found them helpful and now do not be fooled! (suddenly I recollected the idea ad ‘No ullu banaving; No ullu banavingβ) π Happy shopping guys! muah…
