Hola Amigos!
Do you know how important is sunscreen for you skin? Really I cannot stress enough on this fact. Finding a sunscreen for me personally; has been a huge task, until I met these 3 lovely sunscreens that matched my needs perfectly. Read on to know the three best sunscreen for Indian skin and weather
Let us first understand a few important sunscreen facts:
Sunscreen Facts:
- UVA and UVB rays which are emitted from the sun are very harmful to our skin. UVA causes wrinkles and tanning and UVB causes skin burns. So adequate protection is a must if you want your skin to remain healthy and young.
- These rays penetrate through glass windows as well
- UVA and UVB rays causes skin cancer as well
- SPF: SPF or sun protection factor basically takes care of UVB rays. So the more the SPF the more protection from UVB (burning) and more amount of time you can spend in the sun without burning
- PA +: I am sure you guys must have read PA+ or PA++ grading on your sunscreen carton. This is a grading system that takes care of the UVA protection. So the more ++ the better protection from UVA rays. We generally get PA+++ as the highest protection in Indian market
- For Indian weather SPF 30 - SPF 50 is required. Anything above that is only a marginal increase in protection. Having said that, SPF 70 or 90 sunscreen are not a waste as well especially if you are out at a beach.
- One more benefit of higher SPF is that, we do not apply enough sunscreen on our face and body. (One must apply 3 ml of sunscreen just on face!
) So a high SPF sunscreen will at least give better protection even if applied less. - 2 finger rule: Continuation of the above point one must apply full 2 fingers of sunscreen on face!
- Applying sunscreen after every 2-3 hours is very important. Even though you use sunscreens with high SPF. If you want complete protection then this step is a MUST.
