Burt Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Sweet Violet-Review:

Ok so here’s a small question for you; which is that one cosmetic that you can’t live without? Oh! Am I being too stingy ?! Ok fine 2 cosmetics 😛 Well for me hands down they are my lip balms and Kajals. Taking about lip balms I was head over heels for Maybelline baby lips, but then my lips met its true love realising Maybelline was just a serious infatuation! This true love is none other than ‘Burt Bees’ Tinted Lip balm Sweet Violet.
My lips met its soul mate when I was on a trip to Singapore with my soul mate 😀 As soon as I saw the Burt Bees counter at Sephora Singapore, along with other products I picked up this baby in ‘Sweet Violet’ shade and another lip shine for which the review would be coming soon 🙂 Having missed Sephora so dearly in Mumbai, I was so overwhelmed and wanted to practically buy the whole store; but thanks to my over tensed soul mate he was with me holding my hand and helping me let go 😆
Ok coming to my lips ultimate love; let’s see how my lips and I fell in love with ‘Burt Bees’ tinted lip balm Sweet Violet’

My Experience with Burt Bees Tinted Lip Balm Sweet Violet:
It’s been 3 months that I’m using this variant of Burt Bees, and needless to mention I am in serious love with this. These balms are formulated to be very conditioning.
The colour is sheer, but still quiet pigmented. In fact, this is the most pigmented naturally tinted balm I own. The shade ‘Sweet Violet’ is a very nice plum pink, which deposits perfect amount of colour and shine on my lips and makes it perfect for daily wear. It lasts for at least 2 hours after which it takes a second to reapply. The colour is also buildable; 3-4 coats gives you a brilliant colour pay off. A lovely sweet smell is definitely a bonus!
I do not have major dry or chapped lips, but since I am in an Air conditioned environment every day I like my lip balms to be natural and moisturising. This balm has definitely helped me maintain the softness and gives a very natural tinge, making my lips look very healthy with a natural sheen 😀
I have also used this under my dry/matte lipsticks and they make the lipsticks glide beautifully without any tugging or pulling. Infact when I use this under my Burt Bees lip shine it looks so beautiful and perfect for evening dinner when you want to go for a no/less make-up look.
The packaging is what I really like! It comes in a retractable cylindrical tube, which in turn comes in a perfect cylindrical box just made for it. Infact it is great when you just want to dump it in your bag, as it won’t get lost in your bag due to the box packaging.
So summing up the Pro’s and Con’s:
Pro’s of Burt Bees Tinted Lip Balm Sweet Violet:
- All natural ingredients
- Highly rich and moisturising
- Great colour pigmentation for a lip balm as you can build up
- Pity long lasting it’s been 3 months and easily it would last me another 4 months
- Very convenient packaging-hygienic and love the box!
- Very nice colour for daily wear
- Smells sweet with slight sweet taste
Con’s of Burt Bees Tinted Lip Balm Sweet Violet:
- Availability is a major con!
- Expensive everywhere except in the US
