Hope your Diwali was full of love, laughter and crackers! I am sure the yummy food and the huge feasts were damn good. I have eaten so much and loved every bit of it. So here’s a small write up to help you get back to routine and feel good after the super fun binge eating festive days.

First things first, ensure that you have enjoyed your food thoroughly and you are not stressing about the food you ate. Trust me you deserved every bit of the yummy treats and none of them were excess.

Also to be honest, there is nothing such as ‘Detox’ or ‘Detox after Diwali’ I would rather put it as how to come back to routine after Diwali! I am someone who doesn’t believe in quick fixes and detox diets. Yes detox juices and skin detox is a different thing. But I would not promote anything that says do not eat! 5 Ways To Detox After Diwali Treats

  • Move your body! After such a nice long break from the gym, the first thing you must do is hit your gym or Yoga or any form of physical exercise for atleast 45 minutes today. Exercise will help your body move the toxins and will make you feel much lighter and this light and fresh feeling will keep you away from sugar!
  • Get back to your green teas and hot water with ginger & lemon concoction. This will add in good amounts of anti-oxidants to your body. With this, keep sipping on water. I have personally not drank enough water throughout my Diwali holidays so if there’s anyone like me out there, ensure you are back to drinking 3-4 litres of water daily. This will flush out toxins for you.
  • Eat citrus fruits. Yes this feeling of lethargy will go away once you stock up and eat those refreshing citrus fruits.
  • OK so I know we all over ate for days together and now get up feeling super heavy and definitely in no mood of eating breakfast. Fine I get it! But do not skip any meal; please don’t. You might as well make a fresh soup with leafy veggies or make a yum smoothie mixing various fruits and veggies which will give you the necessary nutrients; yet not fill you up! Don’t forget to add some black pepper to your soup to boost up your metabolism.
  • Promise your self to not eat out or any packaged food for the next 10 days. Take it up as a challenge and instead feed yourself some nice home cooked warm meals with whole foods.
