Heya everyone 🙂

Being an organic junkie I had to try out a few homemade facial peels and the results I got were absolutely amazing; that got me thinking to try more recipes on each of the acids. So here I am doing a dedicated post on DIY homamade facial peels as promised from my previous post on Alpha and Beta hydroxy acids for flawless skin .

I would sincerely suggest you to first read my previous post (link above) to get complete details on how these acids work. Ok, now that you know the importance and have good knowledge on the Alpha and Beta Hydroxy acids let’s take charge of the kitchen and start whisking these amazing DIY homemade facial peel recipes for a soft and supple skin 😀

Note: This will not give you results similar to the cosmetic one’s but will surely help and lift up your skin in the long run 🙂

Alpha Hydroxy Acids:

Glycolic Acid:

  • Apply sugarcane juice on your face, leave it on for 30 minutes and wash off with cold water
  • Make a mixture of Castor sugar and little olive oil and scrub your face with it; keep it for 30 mins and wash off with cold water

Lactic Acid:

  • Use a mixture of Watermelon and Milk powder
  • Apply a mixture of Yoghurt and lemon on your face for 20 minutes and wash off with cold water
  • Apply a mixture of Milk and saffron to skin, wash off after 30 minutes

Tartaric Acid:

  • Apply grape juice directly onto your skin, leave for 30 minutes and wash off with cold water

Malic Acid:

  • Apply paste of apple and honey on face, leave for 30 minutes wash off with cold water

Citric Acid:

  • Make a paste of Orange peels and yoghurt or milk. Leave it on for 30 minutes and wash it off with cold water

These peels are extremely good for pigmented and blemished skin. I personally love the Citric acid peel and my glycolic acid castor sugar and Olive oil scrub, it definitely makes my skin super soft and so velvety to touch! 😀

Beta Hydroxy Acids:

  • Strawberries are the best source for BHA, Just apply leave for 30 minutes and wash it off!
  • Another effective once, is a paste of Aspirin and rose water, leave this pack for NOT more than 15 minutes.

These peels are excellent for acne prone skin, I am a huge fan of strawberries and whenever I eat some it always goes on my face too. Multitasking you see! 😉

Important: Please do a patch test before trying out any of the above homemade facial peels to avoid any allergies of the mentioned ingredients.

Do try and let me know what your beautiful skin says 🙂

Lots of love and Luck…

  1. While its not a peel, the Tangerine Tingle (from CItrus Clear) works just like a peel, you just have to LEAVE IT ON FOR 5 MINUTES. Its starts to tingle, and that is the glycolic acid working. Once you wash it off, its like having a professional $100 glycolic peel. Highly recommended.
