OK, So have you ever been tempted by the yummy green smoothies and those healthy vegetable juices that the internet throws at you? I absolutely have! (Even blogged about it :-P) But how do you really manage to eat healthy through out the day when you don’t have time? Well, that’s what i’m gonna talk about; so read on.
Internet these days is a bliss to give us ready healthy recipes, which are really important for our health. Me as a healthy person usually try to incorporate the green juices and many other things in my everyday life. I start with a bang and then after a few weeks or months there I am rushing through my day like a Zombie! Sounds Familiar? But to be honest, eating healthy does not have to be this difficult. Life’s all about balancing and hence when you find that right balance, pat yourself on the back coz you have nailed it! So here’s my lifestyle that I am sharing to make your healthy eating easier and hope things fall in place for you too! P.S. I really do have busy days.. I usually leave house by 9 and come back by 9:30, after which there is dinner and making of my hair masks for my clients! (IF YOU WANT ONE YOU CAN GET IN TOUCH WITH ME ON 8082431080). Yes the 9-9 does include my workout time.
Following a Healthy Diet:
-
Chuck all the smoothies (unless you are now used ti it):
I could never get myself used to the early morning of cleaning spinach and other greens and then making a smoothie out of it. PLUS handle the breakfast! So I decided something else. I now take a dabba (Tiffin) with 1 full tomato, 1 carrot, a few fenugreek leaves, a few spinach leaves, a lemon and any 1 fruit. I eat this as my evening snacks and have been loving how easy it gets in the mornings (takes less than a minute to just keep things in the tiffin) and yet getting the dose of nutrients in my body. Note: Do not cut the veggies, since you will be eating it in the evening. Cutting will lead to loss of nutrients.
2. NEVER skip breakfast:
Too busy to relax and have your breakfast? OK. Sometimes me too 🙂 But yet, I never skip it. I ensure I make my oats and raisins and pack it; then have it on my way to work. But NEVER skip it. The key is to start your day with good stuff so your body has enough fuel to start burning calories throughout the day.
3. Fit in the workout session in your day:
Not a morning person? (I AM NOT AT ALL A MORNING PERSON!) The last thing I’ll do on earth is get up early in the morning to exercise. Just can’t. But I do workout at a studio which is close to my work place. The key is to find a workout place close to your work place. This way you will save travelling time and hence will prioritize your body as well; because once you reach home i’m sure you get so lazy that you wouldn’t want to move that a**. Fit the workout before or after work whichever suits you, but ensure you go at least 4 times a week 🙂
4. Eat only home cooked food:
Stick to this- Monday to Friday eat only at home (Lunch and Dinner). Saturday you can eat something yummy and Sunday if you want to eat out try a healthy meal option. You will feel happy about your choices and will look forward for the weekends even more! I usually stick to this; weekdays are strictly at home and then weekends I go mad 😛 I do enjoy my beers and wine as well but then I ensure I workout and compensate on my eating as well.
So basically a healthy diet/ life for a busy woman if you see, is pretty simple. Stay rooted to home cooked food and ensure you are adding raw veggies and fruits as your evening snacks. Don’t pull yourself for not making the yummy smoothies and the fancy breakfasts (I don’t know how on earth do they get time!) But even a lifestyle mentioned above will give you really good results. I promise 🙂 DO YOU HAVE ANY YUMMY HEALTHY DINNER RECIPE or A TIP THAT WOULD FURTHER ENHANCE A HEALTHY DIET? DO SHARE!
