Eww for many, right? But eggs do offer a lot of benefits for your skin, hair and health. They are infact very versatile as they can be used in multiple ways, serving the best of benefits. Letโs move on with our #FRIDAYINGREDIENTTALK.

It took me sometime to get used to using eggs on my face. The whole thought of it, used to make me gag. But as I started reading more and more, I gave it a try. Now it has been 3 years, and this wonderful protein has been a part of my hair and skin journey ever since.
The 2 parts of an egg; white and yellow makes it even more versatile to use as each has their benefits. While egg whites are rich in Vitamin A and collagen synthesis, egg yolks are highly nourishing and moisturizing. Eggs are high in protein, though not all the protein would be absorbed into your skin, but there are significant proteins that do get absorbed and works well ๐
Benefits of Eggs (SKIN & HAIR):
AntiAging:
If you ask me one ingredient that is BEST for anti-aging; I would hands down mention egg! Both egg white and egg yolk is great for aging skin. The white tightens your skin and the yolk given it nourishment. I always apply some whole egg on my face when making breakfast. Yes the smell can be bad, but if you are too finicky about it then adding a few drops of essential oil will help ๐
Hair Softener:
Need a quick mask that will instantly soften your hair? Use 1 whole egg mixed with curd and you will have shiny, soft hair in your first wash itself ๐
Eliminate Blackheads:
This one recipe has really worked wonders on me for blackheads. You may check it out here. Eggs firm up on your skin so peeling it off works great on those loose blackheads.
Hereโs something on the Egg Yolks since it is not discussed often:
- Egg yolks provide a rich source of biotin which is essential for thick hair and healthy nerves. Biotin also aids in the digestion of foods such as fat and protein.
- Egg yolks contain Vitamin D which is important for the growth of healthy bones and teeth.
- Egg yolks have lots of Vitamin A. Vitamin A repairs cell damage. Vitamin A keeps our eyes healthy, strengthens our immune systems, keeps our skin healthy and glowing.
Eggs are so versatile that you can mix it with almost anything to make a potent mask. I love such a versatile ingredient that offers me benefits in anyway I use them. Whatโs your favorite egg recipe?
Happy Weekend Guys… xoxoxo
