If you ask me to choose any one oil, out of the countless wonderful oils available, I would definitely choose Grapeseed Oil. Let’s talk about it now πŸ™‚

If there is one oil, that I have to safely recommend for ALL skin types be it sensitive, acne prone, oily, dry etc. it would be Grapeseed oil.

What is Grapeseed Oil?

It is an oil, that is pressed from the seeds of grapes, typical wine grapes. Because a very small amount is generally extracted from each seed, this oil is chemically extracted. The chemical extraction does not have an impact on the flavor or benefits of the oil, and it makes the oil affordable. The oil is known for being light in color and flavor, with a hint of nuttiness. It is a polyunsaturated oil, and contains beneficial compounds such as linoleic acid.

It is used for culinary purposes, skin and hair.

Grapeseed oil is a preferred cosmetic ingredient for controlling moisture of the skin. Light and thin, it leaves a glossy film over skin when used as a carrier oil for essential oils in aromatherapy. It contains more linoleic acid than many other carrier oils. It is also used as a growth and strengthening treatment for hair.

Benefits of Grapeseed Oil - SKIN:

  • People basically use this oil for its emollient properties. That is the reason it is available in many cosmetics like lip balms, lotions, moisturizers etc.
  • Due to the presence of anti-oxidants, it can also delay signs of aging by minimizing the damage caused by free radicals. It is very famous for toning your skin, due the astringent present in the oil. Isn’t this a complete anti-aging care winner?
  • The linoleic acid found in grape seed is highly beneficial for stubborn acne and eczema
  • Grapeseed oil has very high absorbing power, hence it is brilliant for erasing scars, stretch marks, nourishment, wrinkles and sunburn! (Woah)
  • It also has Vitamin E, which helps retain moisture and maintain the moisture levels in your skin

Benefits of Grapeseed Oil - HAIR:

  • Because of the high Vitamin E content, grapeseed oil is a great choice for hair. It improves hairs health and strength.
  • The oil has a high smoking point, so a hot oil massage with grapeseed oil; will leave your hair soft and shiny!

Now, you tell me, with so many benefits would you let this oil go? The absorbing power is so good that you wouldn’t feel a thing, yet get all the wonderful benefits mentioned. I am currently using grapeseed oil from soul flower, since all my oils are usually from them. I think they should give me some freebies coz of my loyalty towards them πŸ˜› lol. No but seriously I relate to the brand and the owners as well. Plus Natasha (Owner) LOVES Cats! I love everyone who loves cats. Hehe.

I am also eyeing SULA. Since Sula has a vineyard, the source seems trust worthy. Please do not buy your oils from random places, since it can ruin your skin. Ensure it is cold pressed, certified and good to use. πŸ™‚

Happpyyyy Friday guys… Cheers! Talk to you all from Goa soon πŸ˜€
