Hola!

Happy Fridayyyy! I love Fridays… It feels so good that the week is finally coming to an end 😀 Ok so this weekend give yourself a homemade microdermabrasion and pamper your skin!

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a clinical treatment, where in a crystal device is used to slough off dead skin cells from your face/skin. This is one of the most effective treatment to remove fine lines, age spots and to even out you skin tone. Note the best results will always be achieved when performed under a certified dermatologist.

However, there are a few home remedies that help us get a similar result and ensure our skin is polished well. This homemade microdermabrasion, will give your skin a look that is even, will remove bumps, and slough off dead skin cells revealing fresh looking skin.

Homemade Microdermabrasion

Things you will need:

  • 3 tbsp - Baking Soda OR Brown Sugar

  • Moisturizer (Any calming moisturizer or aloe vera gel mixed with coconut oil)

Procedure for Homemade Microdermabrasion:

  • Clean your face well
  • Mix Baking Soda OR powdered Brown Sugar with honey
  • Start scrubbing your face with the mixture, make small circular motions covering your entire face and neck
  • DO NOT apply too much pressure, just light pressure and make small round circles for 3-5 minutes

Why Baking Soda OR Brown Sugar for Homemade Microdermabrasion?

Baking Soda and Brown sugar both have a little coarse texture, that gives good results and a polished look to your skin. You can use either depending on your experience and availability of the product. Brown Sugar contains glycolic acid which helps fade away scars as well.

Things to remember while using homemade Microdermabrasion

  • DO NOT put too much pressure on your skin
  • Ensure you apply rose water to balance your Ph level (Especially when using baking soda which is highly alkaline)
  • These are potentially irritating ingredients - ensure to do a patch test first
  • Homemade Microdermabrasion will NEVER give you results similar to a clinical one. This JUST used as a maintenance step for your skin
  • If you have any active acne/pimples DO NOT use this. Wait till they are totally suppressed.
  • Do this ONLY once a week to polish your skin-DO NOT go overboard 🙂
  • It is advisable to perform this DIY in the evening
  • Also avoid going in direct sunlight the next day (Your fresh skin is sensitive)

Enjoy your fresh looking skin after this 🙂

Happy Weekend !!!

Love and Light,
