Hi Everyone!

So you thought I am the only one who is fascinated with the natural beauty world? Well No, My very own, my fav. grandma is also equally fascinated and in our recent tete-a-tete she revealed many natural beauty tips that she has been following. Read on to know the natural beauty tips.

So my grandma is 90 years old and is gorgeous, a lady standing tall with long black hair! (A little grey of course but majorly black). I am now blessed with 2 grandmas (after my wedding) and both keep advising me on various natural beauty tips. So lets get on with their secrets and something which we all would love to apply 🙂

Natural Beauty Tips and Secrets:

  • So my grandma, has never used shampoo in her life! Yes even today. She uses ritha (Aritha) for her hair and also swears by the old shikakai soap we used to get. I remember her telling me when we were kids; how do you’ll even use a shampoo its so complicated! and I used to just laugh it off.
  • She never applied anything but milk cream (malai) and besan to clean her face and body. Now she does use honey and other Kitchen ingredients as well 🙂 But yes, anything that is available to her in her kitchen. (Yeah I know aged 90 and still cooks!; well we are all blessed 🙂 )
  • Feeding home cooked food with ghee is her mission and vision of life! hehe… Yes you know how grandmas are, they love to feed their kids; especially things that say ‘GHEE‘. She always said and still stands by her idea that ghee gives nourishment to your body, skin and hair which makes them glow. She even applied ghee to her hair once a month.
  • Not oiling your hair is a sign that you are lost in life! She asked me to use sesame oil mixed with coconut oil for my dry hair. Since she knows I am not lazy when it comes to skin and hair care, she asked me to add fenugreek seeds and curry leaves when I warm my oil a bit. This will tackle all the hair woes according to her!
  • Feeling sad in life? SLEEP. Snoozing is one of the best beauty tip. (I can already imagine myself hibernating over the weekend :P) Sleep defines how our body functions. If our body functions well it will be reflected on our hair and skin.

So here are a few DIY’s that she gave:

  • Mix pure almond oil and honey, massage your skin for 20 minutes and wash it off for a soft glowing skin
  • Mix Multani Mitti (Fullers earth) with sandalwood powder, turmeric and raw milk, apply all over face as a weekly detox face pack.
  • Boil Aritha in water and use it as a shampoo. Then apply curd mixed with shikakai powder as a conditioner.
  • Mix Malai (milk cream), turmeric and Besan (Gram flour) to form a thick paste. Apply it all over face and body and scrub well. This will remove tan and dead skin cells from your body and face.
  • Coconut oil mixed with a few drops of rose water can be used to moisturize your whole body.
  • Mix saffron with milk cream and turmeric for a fair glowing complexion

So these were the natural beauty tips and secrets that I learnt from my grandma. I knew about most of them, but had forgotten how simple things are the best! Do you have any family passed secrets? Comment below 🙂

Have a great weekend all. Love and Light <3
