TGIF everyone!
How is the week coming along? If not too great don’t worry it is ending super soon! 🙂
So recently I was asked by one of my readers; to help her with a few things that she can do regularly to ensure her hair remains strong and thick. As I answered her query, I realized why not share it with you guys. So here’s a piece from me for you to get strong, thick hair.
It usually gets confusing when there are so many packs and products available in the market for our hair. But to be honest it is not important to spend a bomb to get healthy, strong, thick hair. Our crowning glory says a lot about how we treat them and what we eat, so show the world how careful you are. Trust me good hair can make all the difference in the world! ![]()
6 Tips for Strong, Thick Hair:
Use a Hair Mask:
Treat your hair with nature’s goodness regularly (at least once a week). A hair mask deep conditions your hair and provides it with the necessary nutrients; that washes off the environmental damage and in turn leads to healthy hair.
A MUST TRY Hair Mask:
- 1 tbsp - Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp - Castor Oil
- 1 whole Egg
- Little Paste of Soaked fenugreek seeds
Mix and apply. Keep it for 30-40 minutes and wash it off!
Hair Supplements:
Our hair grows and responds to the nutrients we provide to them. While we may not get enough nutrients in our food, a vitamin supplement will always help to keep our hair happy! Vitamins like folic acid, Biotin etc are necessary to get strong, thick hair. In fact please do read my post which specifically highlights the vitamins required for AMAZING hair 🙂
Protein and Biotin rich diet:
Proteins are VERY important and literally defines the structure of your mane/hair. If you wish to get those shiny and lustrous locks ensure and promise your self to have a diet rich of proteins. I have started taking 2 egg whites daily for my evening snacks and ensure that I have my bowl of dal for dinner. Yes I agree vegetarians have less options, but brocolli and pulses will give you enough proteins.
For Biotin the yummiest and simplest source is a banana. Eat one big banana everyday and you are sorted!
Be true to yourself and eat healthy 🙂
Sleep Care:
You can take care of your hair while sleeping!! Get yourself a silk pillow cover. If silk is not available or too expensive then a satin pillow cover will do. Silk and Satin pillow covers prevent hair breakage when you toss and turn.
Also leave your hair loose when you are sleeping. Do not sleep in a tight pony tail or braids.
Hot Oil Champi!
This is my favorite. I LOVE oiling my hair and I religiously do it 1-2 times a week. Hot oil massage increases blood circulation and hence gives life to your hair follicles.
Besides, it also provides the nutrients to your hair which aids in hair growth. There are specific oils like castor, coconut and olive oil that gives really good results.
Shampoo and Conditioner:
For some of you this point wouldn’t really make sense. You’d be like ‘duh! obviously!’ My point here is to go SLS free and use a mild shampoo and team it up with a conditioner that works for your hair. Many skip conditioners or restrict it to once a week use, but the job of a conditioner is to seal in the moisture in your hair follicles; since every time you wash your hair, your hair follicles are disturbed; conditioner sort of calms them down giving you the sleek feeling.
Following these steps will guarantee strong, thick hair within 3 months. Trust me and start following these remedies and make a few things part of your routine.
Happy Hair day everyone!
Love and Light,
